We offer a leveled classical ballet program (beginner through advanced) with a strong focus on correct technique while experiencing “la joie de danse” (the joy of dance).
Ballet is the technical foundation of many other dance genres, and we like to encourage our students to study ballet in addition to their other dance classes. Our ballet classes stress proper technique at the barre and center floor, with an emphasis on correct body placement, strength, and flexibility. Students learn not only correct technique, but also correct terminology.
We also offer two levels of contemporary dance for teens and adults - a beginner/intermediate class and an intermediate/advanced class for teens and adults with significant prior training in contemporary, lyrical, or ballet. These classes develop strong contemporary technique and offer students the opportunity to express themselves through the latest lyrical and contemporary styles.
Our 2025-2026 dance year is divided into two sessions: Session 1 runs September 8, 2025, through January 17, 2026, and Session 2 runs February 9, 2026, through June 6 or 13, 2026. Please note that the ages listed for each class are as of September 1, 2025, and that while we use age as an initial placement tool, there is fluidity in class placement. Our teachers are constantly observing and evaluating the progress of all of our students and will bring it to the director’s attention if a student would be better suited in another class, even if the student’s age doesn’t fit the listed age range. Also please note that when registering for class, if a student’s age fits the age range for two different classes of the same type (for example, a 7-year-old who could be in the age 5 to 7 Intro class or the age 7 to 9 Debut class), you should only consider registering that student for the older class if he/she has at least one full year of formal training in that particular style of dance. It is always better to start out in the younger class and be asked to move up rather than starting out in the older class and be asked to move down. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about class placement.
