The Cincinnati Dance and Movement Center has been providing high-quality dance education for over 40 years and is widely respected as a longtime staple of the community. In fact, CDMC's community involvement is one of the things we are most proud of. We have been a part of hundreds of community events over the decades, including performing at local festivals, being guest artists at community fundraisers, entertaining residents of senior living centers, and much more. In addition to local performances, we have gained recognition on regional and national stages, including scoring top overall at numerous regional dance competitions and national dance finals, performing as the featured entertainment at the National PTA Convention, being the halftime entertainment of the ATP Tennis Tournament, and appearing on the Tyra Banks Show and the TV show Dance Moms. CDMC is also known for contributing to the community in other ways, including coaching high school seniors for the Overture Awards, lending props and sets to local school districts for their plays and musicals, and serving in advisory roles for various performing arts programs and events. We love contributing to our community in positive ways.
At the Cincinnati Dance and Movement Center, we embrace the philosophy that dance is for everybody. This mindset is why we have offered a tuition-free adaptive dance class for children for the past 10 years, which we call "A Chance to Dance". We don't ever want anyone to feel that dance is not something for them due to age, body type, or physical limitations. This is why we do not require a student uniform of a specific leotard and tights as some studios do; instead, we allow a variety of attire for dance class, as long as it allows freedom of movement and meets safety requirements. We always want everyone to feel welcomed and like they belong at the Cincinnati Dance and Movement Center.
The Cincinnati Dance and Movement Center offers a complete curriculum for students age 1½ through adult, beginner through advanced, with classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, preschool dance, and more. At CDMC, we take great care to provide age-appropriate and level-appropriate material in a supportive and positive learning environment. Our classes stress proper technique, correct terminology, and artistic development while also fostering joy in movement and a love of the art of dance. This joy is what inspires so many of our young students to continue with us through high school graduation and to return to us later as adults with their own children, as well as inspiring our adult students who come to us looking for a short-term adult class to end up staying with us for years. Come discover the joy of dance with us!
